The difference between tree lopping and professional tree trimming!
Many people ask us what the difference is between tree lopping and tree trimming. There are many factors that make the two quite different and number one is safety.
Tree lopping is the process of cutting a tree in two. Meaning to saw off the top third of a tree.
Due to safety restrictions, considering tree health and wanting our customers and their properties to be safe we actually advise against tree lopping. There can be long-term adverse effects on the tree, including sprouting weak limbs and not being able to control the angle the limbs grow. Both of these factors will most certainly create problems for you down the track. Should you choose to have your tree lopped than be aware it will require ongoing maintenance more regularly than a simple tree trim does.
Tree trimming is a much safer option. This process is essentially what the name describes, trimming the tree branches. Aesthetically it is more pleasing and it only requires minor canopy thinning. Tree trimming requires less maintenance and depending on the species less frequently.
