- Make sure the area you are mulching is weed free
- If you have it, dig in some compost before laying down the mulch for added nutrients
- Give the soil a really good long soak with water
- Apply the mulch, about 2 inches is best
- Enjoy your fresh new garden
Mulch should last up to a year. Try and mulch during Spring so your garden is protected in time for the hot weather ahead.
